Protecting You and Your Family, Every Stage of the Way

Vaccination is an important part of protecting your health and the health of your community from a range of preventable diseases. At Armstrong Creek Doctors, we provide immunisations and vaccinations for patients of all ages, from babies and children through to adults and seniors.

Why Vaccination Matters

Vaccines work by triggering your immune system to recognise and fight specific diseases. When enough people in a community are vaccinated, it may help reduce the spread of disease and support the protection of those who are unable to be vaccinated, such as newborns and people with certain medical conditions.

Keeping your family’s vaccinations up to date is one of the most practical things you can do for your health and the health of those around you.

Childhood Immunisations

Childhood vaccinations are an important part of your child’s health from birth. The Australian National Immunisation Program (NIP) provides a schedule of recommended vaccines for children at specific ages, covering a range of serious preventable diseases.

Our GPs and nursing staff administer childhood vaccinations in line with the National Immunisation Program schedule. If you are unsure whether your child’s vaccinations are up to date, our reception team can help you check.

Adult & Senior Vaccinations

Vaccination is not just for children. Adults and seniors benefit from staying up to date with certain vaccines, including boosters and age-specific recommendations. Our GPs can review your vaccination history and advise on any vaccines that may be appropriate for your age and circumstances.

Seasonal Vaccinations

The annual flu vaccine is available for everyone aged 6 months and over, with specific recommendations varying by age and individual risk factors. Our GPs can advise on whether the flu vaccine is appropriate for you at your next appointment.

The flu vaccine is updated each year to target the strains most likely to circulate that season, so it is worth considering annually even if you have had it before.

Some patients are eligible to receive the flu vaccine free of charge under the National Immunisation Program, including adults aged 65 and over, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people with certain medical conditions. Our team can advise you on your eligibility at the time of booking.

Travel Vaccinations

If you are planning to travel outside Australia, some destinations may require or recommend specific vaccinations. We recommend booking a travel health consultation at least 6 to 12 weeks before your departure date to allow enough time for vaccinations to take effect.

Please see our Travel Medicine page for more information.

Fees & Bulk Billing

Armstrong Creek Doctors is a fully bulk billing clinic for standard GP consultations. Please note that vaccines and immunisations are not covered under standard Medicare bulk billing and will incur a private fee.

Some vaccines are provided free of charge under the National Immunisation Program for eligible patients. Our reception team will do their best to advise you of any applicable costs before your appointment so you know what to expect.
