Allied Health Services in Armstrong Creek
Whole-Person Care, All Under One Roof
Good health is about more than what happens in a GP consultation. At Armstrong Creek Doctors, we work alongside a team of allied health professionals to make sure your care is connected, coordinated, and convenient.
Our clinic is home to co-located and visiting allied health providers across a range of disciplines, meaning you can access the support you need without having to travel far from home.
Our Allied Health Services
Psychology
Psychologists assess, diagnose, and support patients experiencing psychological and mental health challenges. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioural concerns, or other mental health conditions, a psychologist works with you to build healthier habits, thoughts, and behaviours over time.
If your GP has prepared a Mental Health Care Plan for you, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on psychology sessions.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists help patients manage pain, recover from injury, and improve physical function through manual therapy, exercise, and education. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or dealing with a musculoskeletal concern, physiotherapy may support your recovery and ongoing physical function.
Chiropractic
Chiropractors focus on diagnosing and treating conditions related to the misalignment of joints, which can affect the nerves, muscles, and organs. Using non-surgical techniques such as spinal manipulation and mobilisation, chiropractic care may assist with conditions including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and repetitive strain injuries.
Podiatry
Podiatrists specialise in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of conditions affecting the feet and lower limbs. Podiatry care may assist patients managing conditions related to arthritis, circulatory disease, neurological disorders, and muscular pathologies, as well as general foot health concerns.
Dietetics
Dietitians specialise in food, nutrition, and diet management for patients affected by a range of health conditions including diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, renal disease, gastrointestinal conditions, and food allergies. A dietitian can work with you to explore dietary changes that may support your overall health and help manage certain health conditions.
Allied Health and Your GP Care Plan
If you have a chronic condition, your GP may prepare a Team Care Arrangement (TCA) as part of your GP Management Plan. Under a TCA, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on up to 5 allied health visits per calendar year. A TCA can help you:
- Access subsidised allied health services through Medicare
- Coordinate your care across multiple health professionals
- Set health goals in collaboration with your GP and allied health team
- Receive a coordinated approach to managing your condition
Your GP will refer you to allied health services suited to your individual condition and goals, with the aim of supporting connected care across providers.
Speak with your GP at your next appointment to find out whether a Team Care Arrangement may be suitable for you.
Fees & Bulk Billing
Allied health services are privately billed and are not covered under standard GP bulk billing. Fees vary depending on the service and provider.
If you hold an active Team Care Arrangement, Medicare rebates may apply to eligible allied health visits. Our reception team can provide further information about fees and rebates before your appointment.
